1923 Buick Roadster Soft Top |
Vehicles we’re selected to represent each of the 100 years and the official 1923 entry was a beautiful Buick Roadster Soft Top owned by Curt Hendrickson of Green Bay. Brennan Buick was honored to have this car in our showroom a few weeks ago along with Curt’s 1925 Buick Master sedan. We hope you had a chance to see them for yourself while they were here. And if you’ve got a story about your early Buick experiences, we’d love to hear about it and share it with the Brennan Family. Just give us a call! | 1925 Buick Master Sedan |

Fall Color
Every autumn we all enjoy the beauty of the fall colors that we’re blessed with here in north east Wisconsin and the UP. The mixture of
colors we love to see is the result of chemical processes that take place in the trees as the season change from summer to winter.
During spring and summer the leaves have served as food factories for the tree. This food making process takes place in the leaf in numerous cells containing chlorophyll, which gives the leaf its green color. All of the other color pigments are in the leaf but they are masked by the great amount of green coloring. But in the fall, because of changes in the length of daylight and changes in temperature, the leaves stop their food-making process. The chlorophyll breaks down, the green color disappears, and the yellow to orange colors become visible and give the leaves part of their fall splendor. At the same time, other chemical changes may occur, which form additional colors through the development of red anthocyanin pigments. Some mixtures give rise to the reddish and purplish fall colors of trees such as dogwoods and sumacs, while others give the sugar maple its brilliant orange. The autumn foliage of some trees shows only yellow colors. Others, like many oaks, display mostly browns. All these colors are due to the mixing of varying amounts of the chlorophyll residue and other pigments in the leaf during the fall season. |

Temperature, light, and water supply have an influence on the degree and the duration of fall color. Low temperatures above freezing will favor anthocyanin formation, producing bright reds in maples. However, early frost will weaken the brilliant red color. Rainy and/or overcast days tend to increase the intensity of fall colors. The best time to enjoy the autumn color would be on a clear, dry and cool (not freezing) day. For up to date color reports from Wisconsin visit www.travelwisconsin.com. If you’re heading for the UP current color info can be found at www.michigan.org. So, hop in your Buick and take a ride to enjoy the color; it only occurs for a brief period each fall |

__________________________________________________________________________________________________Holiday Festivals
Can it be that time already!?!?
Area holiday parades are 11/8 in Oshkosh, 11/22 in Green Bay and 11/25 in Appleton. Almost in our backyard is Heritage Hill. The
historic site with 25 period buildings is dressed for the holidays from December 6th thru the 20th. It’s a nice escape from the hustle
and bustle and the gives you the chance to feel the chill on your nose and warmth in your heart as you stroll through town, listen to
carolers and drink hot chocolate. Travel Wisconsin has a web site (www.travelwisconsin.com) that lists all holiday events and is a
great resource for making easy travel plans

Ask Bob Williams
Bob Williams Brennan Buick Service Manager |
Q: Here comes winter again! Anything I should do to my car to be safe? A: Just make sure your car is in peak condition. With any service appointment at Brennan you’ll get a free vehicle inspection. One of our trained technicians will give your car a 27 point check that will assist in safe winter driving – including wiper blades, windshield cracks, tire wear, brakes, steering, suspension and tail lamps. Of course there are other things to keep in mind to keep your family safe this winter. Buckle up! And use the proper child restraints. Keep both hands on the wheel at nine and three o’clock. All new GM vehicles come equipped with daytime running lamps but to be even safer, turn your lights on in rainy or snowy weather to make sure your headlights, tail lamps and other exterior lamps are on. Also be on the look out for impaired drivers. If you see someone having stopping problems (too far, too short, or too jerky), straddling a lane line, swerving or drifting, accelerating or decelerating for no apparent reason, driving without headlights at night, varying speed, or failing to signal or signaling inconsistent with their actions… Keep clear! Alcohol is a factor in 39% of traffic fatalities in the U.S. Do your part to make this winter and holiday season a safe one! If you’ve got any service questions you can call me at (920) 436-4940 or email me at bob@brennanbuick.com |
